  1. OPEN 2019 - The Sea, Art Exhibition at Littlehampton Museum

    Details

    Littlehampton Museum’s hugely popular OPEN exhibition returns for its 8th year, with fantastic artwork from all over Sussex filling the Hearne Gallery until Christmas. 

    This year for the first time, visitors were asked to choose the theme, and after hundreds of votes The Sea proved  most popular.

    As ever, people of any age, ability or artistic medium are invited to create artwork and have the chance to be included in the final display. 

     

    Dates of submission: Work may be taken to the Museum during opening hours from Thursday 5th September – Saturday 7th September 2019.

    Each artist must complete an entry form to enter the OPEN, this should be handed in along with your artwork during submission week.

    Forms can be picked up at the Museum Reception Desk, or downloaded from the Museum's website where you will also find Terms & Conditions.

  2. 'A Sussex Christmas' illustrated talk by Chris Horlock

    Discover how the people of Sussex celebrated Christmas in the past.

    Many of the customs of the traditional twelve days of Christmas are detailed in Chris Horlock's talk, including putting up the decorations, bringing in the yule log, preparing the Christmas day feast, plus the curious Mummer's Play entertainment.

    There's a Christmas tale or two along the way, including how, in 1939, the snow at Burwash was not the usual colour!

    All are welcome at this talk hosted by the East Preston & Kingston Preservation Society. Visitors £3, payable at the door.

    Members free. THIS REPLACES THE TALK 'PETWORTH FAMILIES' ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED FOR THIS DATE.

  3. Street Country - Wild Woodland for Adults Workshop

    This is a weekly event. Wednesdays 6th November – 11th December, 2 – 4 pm

    Spend time discovering and experimenting with natural materials!

    An opportunity to take part in a variety of craft activities using mainly natural materials. Activities include weaving, papercraft, woodcraft, dyeing, painting, felting and making Christmas decorations.

    Learn skills to enable you to make unique creations!

    Street Country provides outdoor learning opportunities and a range of resources that help both children and adults discover the wonders of the natural world.

  4. Christmas shopping evening

  5. An Evening with Winston Churchill

    Winston Churchill often tops the poll as the Greatest Ever Englishman and if ever there were a politician to sort out Brexit he would be the man.  Hear what Winston thinks of Europe, listen to his wartime anecdotes and his views on smoking and Female emancipation.
    The great man is brought to life in this tour de force one man presentation by Tony Harris who will be remembered for his portrayal of Henry VIII.
