Are the beaches open during the current Coronavirus pandemic?
The beaches in the Arun District (Sussex by the Sea) have remained open, so that residents and visitors can enjoy the fresh air and exercise safely along the coast.
HOWEVER, in the interests of all residents, visitors and all the people who provide the services to enable these lovely spaces to be enjoyed safely, please:
- RESPECT THE SOCIAL DISTANCE GUIDELINES
- PARK IN DESIGNATED AREAS ONLY
- IF A BEACH IS BUSY, PLEASE MOVE ALONG TO A QUIETER AREA
- PLEASE TAKE YOUR LITTER HOME WITH YOU TO RECYCLE
- PLEASE OBSERVE ANY RED FLAGS AND SAFETY MESSAGES AND RESPECT THE WATER

HORSES ON BEACHES
Horses are not permitted on the beaches of Arun between 10am and 6pm on any day between 1st May and 30th September. Please see more information on the Arun District Council's Beaches website

PUBLIC TOILETS
The public toilets in the Arun District are listed here and remain open.
Please check for latest information during the current pandemic at the Council's A-Z of Council Services website and adhere to any signage/guidance at these sites
SWANBOURNE LAKE, ARUNDEL
Swanbourne Park & Lake is open, during the day but please observe all local parking and social distancing notices.
The nearest car parks are in Mill Road and Tarrant Street, with a leisurely 10 / 15 minute walk along Mill Road to Swanbourne Park.
