Sussex is a large, and beautiful county that has so much to celebrate, with a wealth of history, architecture, culture, beautiful coastline, the glorious South Downs National Park, and towns and villages as diverse as the people that populate them.

Put the 16th of June in your diary and celebrate - every year.

Discover (at least) Ten Top ways that YOU can celebrate Sussex Day, in person and safely online, at home in 2021.

2. Read about the origins of "Sussex by the Sea"

The county's unofficial anthem "Good Old Sussex by the Sea" is rousing enough to stir the soul of residents and visitors alike!

Take a listen here and discover the county motto "We wun't be druv"

The anthem was written by William Ward-Higgs in South Bersted, Bognor Regis and has a fascinating history going back to WW1

Played at many events and official occasions throughout both East and West Sussex and even adopted by Brighton and Hove Football Club, it's definitely a great singalong!
