Travel by train or bus to
If you must travel by car, once you are here, see if you can leave it at your visitor accommodation,and take time to explore the area by foot, bike boat, bus or train. You’ll get to see much more and save on parking too!
Try your hand at sailing, fishing or diving, on the River Arun or along the coast. You’ll get to enjoy all that natural fresh air in the best of ways. Of ‘course’, another way to be ‘Green’ is by playing Golf at the many local courses,
We are happy to support the Green Tourism Business Scheme and The Green Start Scheme from VisitBritain. If you are looking for a place to stay which holds the same green ethos that you subscribe to, just enter the ‘green’ keyword into the Where to Stay search facility to find properties who are part of these schemes.
Ask your accommodation provider, or better still the Visitor Information Centres, for details of local buses, trains, cycle routes, and where to buy locally produced crafts.
Pack a picnic – with lots of local produce and other goodies available at Farm Shops and Markets, you can create your own
Don’t let your recycling take a holiday – it’s just as important when you’re out and about! Your visitor accommodation provider is sure to have recycling facilities, so please ask.
Support the local shops and restaurants during your stay and sustain the local tourism industry for others to enjoy – and you too – on your next visit!
