| Whatever
your age or taste it is waiting for you on Sussex by
the Sea's spectacular 14 ½ mile stretch of coastline.
The appeal of Littlehampton
is undoubtedly the seafront, where golden stretches
of sandy beaches shelve gently into the sea.
Take a stroll along the prom, or relax on the beautiful
lawns that back onto the beach front - an ideal place
to picnic, throw a frisbee and have fun. A visit to
West Beach is a must. Here the dunes - shaped by nature
and untouched by commercial development - are designated
a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

Littlehampton
Coastguards beach has been the proud holder
of the prestigious UK Seaside Award
for the last 9 years, presented to beaches
with the highest levels of cleanliness and
water safety. |

Along
the main section of the beach, Littlehampton's "Kid
Care" scheme is in operation, which means
parents get peace of mind while children have fun. Free
colour-coded wrist bands matching painted sections of
the prom guide children back to their parents or to
the care of the Foreshore Officer.
The Zoned areas in the sea ensure safe swimming and
protect bathers from watercraft.
During the summer, dogs are not allowed on certain
beaches in Littlehampton. Dogs must also be kept on
leads on the promenades adjacent to these beach areas.
Please observe the bylaw and look out for the signs
showing where dogs are banned. Contact the Dog Wardens
at the Arun Civic Centre on 01903 737500 for further
details.

Visitor Information Centre for more information.
