Type: Nature Reserve

WWT Arundel Wetland Centre is a 65-acre reserve in an idyllic setting, nestled at the base of the South Downs National Park.

Gliding through the reed beds in silent electric boats is the best opportunity in Britain to glimpse a rare water vole or see vividly-coloured kingfishers.

Another prized resident is the nene, the goose saved from extinction by WWT founder Sir Peter Scott and still one of the world’s rarest water-birds. Springtime fills the valley with wildflowers and warbler songs; summer brings exciting pond-dipping discoveries; as winter starts, Bewick’s swans return and water rails emerge.

Families enjoy our year-round attractions like the Pond Skaters Adventure, the Tree Creeper play area and the daily hand-feeding of the many birds. Visit our website for a full listing of our exciting, seasonal events.

Our Waters Edge Café offers hot meals, light bites and children’s meals. Order one of our delicious cakes to accompany a specialty coffee or tea.

Our gift shop has natured themed toys with prices the suit pocket money. For the adults we offer many fair-trade goods, a wide variety of bird and wildlife habitats. We carry a wide range of books, for everyone from the serious ‘birder’ to those just starting to explore nature.
