Arundel Parks - Arundel Park

Swanbourne lodge is just visible over the lake beneath the green trees at Arundel Park

Arundel parks and gardens

Arundel boasts some of the most breathtaking open green spaces in Britain, with stunning views of the town’s famous castle and access to the South Downs National Park.

Enjoy walks and boating at Arundel Park, close to the South Downs countryside, and discover Hiorne’s Tower – an 18th Century folly which became the setting for an invasion of cybermen in a 1988 episode of cult BBC TV programme Doctor Who!

Nearer to Arundel town centre, watch the boats sail by on the River Arun surrounded by medieval ruins at Jubilee Gardens, home to a number of live music events throughout the year. Or, take a wander through the Collector Earl’s Garden at Arundel Castle, conceived as a light-hearted tribute to Thomas Howard, 14th Earl of Arundel (1585-1646), known as ‘The Collector’.
